A Business Health Check
Use this short Activity Review to scan core areas of your business — finance, planning, alliances, top line, people, productivity and risk — and decide where near-term focus will create the most value.
The download includes a one-page Activity Review checklist you can complete with your leadership team or board.

How this Activity Review works
The Business Health Check is a one–page Activity Review. In a quiet moment, you work through a set of activity areas and tick the boxes where extra emphasis in the near term would create substantial new value for your business. Use the “Your Notes” sections to jot down ideas, priorities and possible action steps.
It is not a long diagnostic report. It is a simple way to step back from day-to-day noise, see the whole organisation at once and decide where to focus your limited time, money and attention.
Key activity areas to review
The checklist groups activities into several major themes. As you read each section, ask: “If we lifted our game here over the next 3–6 months, how much value would that create?”
- Finance: profitability, funding and banking, tax and accounting, cash management, ATO compliance and dashboard development.
- Planning: strategic planning, business planning and structures, succession and exit planning.
- Alliances: mergers and acquisitions, business integration, joint ventures, structural alliances and product alliances.
- Top line: marketing, social network marketing, e-business, revenue growth and sales, branding and sales training.
- People: performance measurement, recruitment and remuneration, performance management, “right person, right job” profiling, coaching and leadership development.
- Productivity & operations: asset management, carbon tax, transport and logistics, supply chain, cost recovery and pricing, research and development, procurement, process improvement and project management.
- Risk: key risk-related activities and exposures that could impact your organisation’s resilience.
Turning review into action
As you tick boxes and capture notes, look for themes. Where do multiple issues cluster — cash management, people capability, operations, or something else? Highlight a small number of near-term priorities and sketch some first action steps for each.
Because everything fits on a single page, it is easy to share with your board, leadership team or adviser and use it as the basis for a focused conversation about “what we do next”.
